La lingua più bella del mondo!
Everyone who enters this blog must be having the same questions: "What's italófila?", "Who's italófila?" Well that would be... Me! ^_^ I must thank my friend Brenda, the creator of such nickname! You could say italófila means: someone who loves the Italian language and its culture unconditionally.
It all started like any semester at any university in the world. Back then it was the year 2011, and as usual, my head was full of ideas and determination. Since I was changing faculties, I decided, in the meanwhile, I would explore my abilities in languages. Next thing I know I was enrolled in an Italian intensive course. Sure it is a language known by many but it's not consider the best language to learn to succeed in a future career because, you know, "only" people in Italy speak Italian. Yeah, I'm not going to discuss that now. To get to the point, I began to be so passionate that my peers started to call me mamá italiano because I was always helping and reminding them the "correct use" of the language. Us, linguists, would call it: Standard Italian and/or Neo-standard Italian. After my study abroad program in Milan, Italy (February 2014), I can say I'm in the advanced level. Of course it doesn't mean I'm a guru of the Italian language... not yet! But I sure have learned a lot in 2014.
Finally, in Summer 2015, I've finished my second major in Italian studies. Today, I keep expanding my knowledge in languages so I'm studying French. Now, I'm in a phase in life where I'm finishing my Bachelor's and I'm looking towards my future home: Canada. Hopefully, I'll get to do my Master's in Université de Montréal or Université du Québec à Montréal. They have interesting programs in Linguistics and French Studies. GO CANADA!!!!
